In the exhibition of photography ‘‘Travel fragments/Infrared photography‘‘ (2015-2016) G. Jaronis exposed series of photos mostly from his travels in various places of Europe. These photos were created using relatively rare technology of art photography – infrared rays’ technique. The photos seems like old photographs, and their content has a number of allusions to the graphics, sometimes surrealistic art. The city theme is often in artist’s photos. Travel diaries is quite often theme for many photographers, most often they are turned to art narratives, and sometimes represents different cities. Photo artist G.Jaronis also presented the story of the South of France, Italy and other European cities and regional areas. But he tried not only reflect urban geographical changes, but also capture his own mood swings, which leads the viewer to meditative state. Traveling and recording the special places is both a journey to author’s inner world.
G. Jaronis says: “In my artworks, I’m using various means of expression. The tendency to innovation, and searching for original means of expression led me to the capturing of in the infrared light spectrum. Modified digital camera is used for that. When shooting nature or urban images this technique reveals different than the usual photographic visual content, structure of the images, graphic, and photos are gaining fabulous, often mystical character. “
