Painter Audronė Petrašiūnaitė is one of the most active middle generation painters. She was born in 1954 in Kazlų Rūda. In 1972-1976 she was studying in Kaunas S. Žukas applied art technical school, she has get artistic design specialty. In 1976-1982 she was studying in the State art institute, painting department. She has been participating in the exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad since 1982. She organizes personal exhibitions, also, she participates in group exhibitions. In 1982-1988 she was teaching painting in S. Žukas applied art technical school. In 1988-1993 she was learning these disciplines in J. Naujalis high school. In 1995-2010 – an associate professor of VDA Kaunas art institute. Since 1988 she has belonged to Lithuanian artists union. Painter Audronė Petrašiūnaitė has earnt some stipends and awards. In 1985 she earnt the premium of magazine “Nemunas“ in the 3th Baltic states young artists visual art exhibition “Youth 85“. In 1991 she get the stipend of Lippo district culture institute, in Germany. In 1986 – Vilnius city municipalitie‘s Culture and Art department‘s premium for the painting work “Red wine“ in the 10th Vilnius painting triennial. In 1988 – Soros modern art center‘s in Lithuania stipend. In 2002 – Lithuanian Republic the highest degree‘s stipend to the artists. In 2004 – Lithuanian artists union‘s premium and the golden badge for the creative activity and 2003 personal exhibitions. In 2009 – National M. K. Čiurlionis art museum‘s award for the painting work “The look to yourself“ in the exhibition “The best piece of 2008“, in Kaunas. In 2012 painter Audronė Petrašiūnaitė was chosen the Best Lithuanian artist during the international art fair “Art Vilnius 2012“, her creation work during the fair presented Kaunas gallery “Window“.

From other famous Lithuanian painters, the artist‘s paintings stand out original and constantly changing coloring, its variety. In the big format canvas of A. Petrašiūnaitė dominate dark greenish, green and brown reddish, blue and red tones and shades. Exactly, color combinations, their concords and opposites, unexpected human, nature image‘s abstractness gives especially much subjective emotional dynamism to the painter‘s works. In Lithuanian painting context she stands out subtle works stylistics, pictorial storie‘s expression, thematic variety. In the artist‘s creation work it is very important the dialogue with nature and the presence in familiar to her environment, personal relation colored, view, event, accidentally seen casual life‘s detail, its “registration“ to vivacious, disposing by the colors interior, in which remain recognizable contours and signs. A considerable attention is paid to different motives of the nature.
