Photographer Algimantas Kezys was born on October 28, 1928. In Vištytsi. In 1950, he came to the USA, where he lived and worked all the time. February 23, 2015 died in Boston, USA. The most important photographic series: “Europe” (1962-1963), “New York World’s Fair” (1964), “American West” (1969), “North Philadelphia” (1966), “Chicago” ( 1965-1982), Montreal Expo (1967-1970), Niagara Falls (1968-1972), I Ran From It Day and Night (1968), Form and Content ( 1966-1969), “Mexico” (1968-1974), “Trees” (1968-1988), “Village Fragments” (1965-1979), “Among People” (1964-1984 .), “Lithuania” (1983), “Nature” (1971-1984), “World’s Fairs” (1982-1986), “Paris” (1984), “Israel” (1986 .), Fragments of Cities (1981-1988), Preludes of Returning Birds (1995), Cityscapes I, II, III, IV (1996-2005), Woman (1997), “Fragments of Being” (1998), “Lithuania” (2000)
The artist organized more than 60 author exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad, his works received many translations in both Lithuanian and foreign press. The artist’s work consists of color and black and white photography.

Awards: 1991 for the art of photography, the prize of the LB Culture Council of the USA was appointed; in 1992 – Honorary member of LFS; in 1994 – honorary title of photographer (AFIAP) awarded by the International Federation of Artistic Photography (FIAP); in 1999 awarded with the Order of the Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania V degree.
Algimantas Kezys has published 120 artistic photography albums, organized a number of exhibitions of other Lithuanian artists in Chicago.
